Benefiting from Community Mediation in St. Louis
What is Community Mediation?
Community Mediation is a program within Mennonite Peace Center that provides mediation services throughout metropolitan Saint Louis. The Community Mediation Program trains and mentors volunteers to co-mediate using a well-respected model that empowers the parties to resolve their own issues.
The Peace Center seeks to promote the principles of nonviolent social change and peace in the St. Louis community by fostering mediation, education and dialogue among all persons, regardless of their faith traditions. We are a not-for-profit organization that relies on the commitment and skills of our volunteer members to accomplish its goals.
Mediation is a voluntary process in which two or more parties involved in a dispute work with an impartial party, the mediator, to generate their own solutions in settling their conflict. Community mediation referrals come from many people and organizations.
They may be self-referred by anyone having a problem.
Issues in mediation may include:
